Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

The Vindhya Journal of Medical Research invites original, high-quality manuscripts from researchers, clinicians, and academicians in all areas of medical and health sciences. Authors are advised to read these guidelines carefully before submitting manuscripts to ensure that submissions are complete and conform to the journal’s requirements.

Scope of the Journal

VJMRSSMC publishes peer-reviewed articles in all disciplines of medical and allied health sciences. The journal accepts original research articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, and letters to the editor. Manuscripts should reflect original research, novel findings, or valuable clinical observations that contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and practice.

General Submission Requirements

All manuscripts must be submitted in English and prepared using Microsoft Word. Submissions must be original and not under consideration by any other journal. Authors must declare that the work has not been published previously, either in full or in part, except as an abstract in conference proceedings. The editorial board reserves the right to reject any manuscript that does not conform to ethical standards or formatting guidelines.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be arranged in the following order: Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text (including Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion), Acknowledgments, Conflict of Interest Statement, Funding Disclosure, References, Tables, and Figures. Each section should begin on a new page.

The title page should include the title of the article, full names of all authors, their institutional affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author, including email address and phone number.

The abstract must not exceed 250 words and should be structured under the headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Case reports and letters may include an unstructured abstract of not more than 150 words. Following the abstract, authors should provide 3 to 6 keywords for indexing purposes.

The main text of original research articles should be organized using the IMRAD format: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Authors must provide sufficient detail in the methods section to allow replication of the study. Statistical methods should be clearly described. Discussion should relate findings to existing literature and highlight the significance of the study.

Ethics and Consent

Authors must state that the study was approved by the relevant institutional ethics committee and that informed consent was obtained from all participants where applicable. All research involving human or animal subjects must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki or relevant national guidelines. A statement on conflict of interest and funding support must be included in all submissions.

References

All references must be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are cited in the text. The Vancouver citation style should be used. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all references. Examples of correct referencing format should be consulted before submission.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables should be cited in the text in numerical order and placed at the end of the manuscript after the references, each on a separate page. All figures must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and submitted as separate files in TIFF or PNG format. Each figure and table must have a descriptive title and explanatory legend.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to VJMRSSMC undergo an initial editorial screening for relevance and format. Suitable manuscripts are then sent for double-blind peer review by two or more independent reviewers. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Based on the reviewers' comments, the editorial board will make a decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments and resubmit within the stipulated time.

Proofs and Corrections

Galley proofs will be sent to the corresponding author for final review before publication. Only typographical and minor corrections will be accepted at this stage. Major changes in content or authorship are not allowed at the proof stage.

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened for plagiarism using standard software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected immediately. The journal adheres to strict ethical publishing practices and follows the guidelines set by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

Submission Method

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal’s online submission system. Authors should also include a cover letter stating the novelty and significance of the work, and confirming that the manuscript complies with all ethical and submission requirements.
