Abstract

1. Role of ATG and HSCT in Aplastic Anemia 
patients: (January 24, 2026)
• Dr. Shweta Pathak, Associate Professor, Pediatric 
Hematologist-Oncologist, and BMT physician 
from NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur, was 
invited to the Department of Medicine, SSMC 
Rewa, by Prof. P.K. Baghel for a talk on “Role of 
ATG and HSCT in Aplastic Anemia Patients.”
• The session was attended by Dr. Indurkar, faculty 
members, and postgraduate students, and was highly 
interactive, with a focus on practical management.
• Simultaneously, a free HLA typing camp was 
conducted in the Department of Pediatrics 
(PHO Daycare Center) under the supervision of 
Dr. Naresh Bajaj, benefiting thalassemia patients.
2. International Childhood Cancer
 Day 
(February 15, 2026)
• International Childhood Cancer Day was 
celebrated in the Department of Pediatrics, S.S. 
Medical College, Rewa (MP), under the guidance 
of Dr. Naresh Bajaj (HOD), in the presence of 
Dr. Karan Joshi and other faculty members. The 
event included the participation of pediatric 
cancer patients and their parents, who shared 
their treatment journeys. Cancer survivors were 
felicitated by CanKids India NGO, making the 
occasion inspiring and encouraging for patients 
and their families.
3. “More Than You Can Imagine”: (March 13, 2026)
• The workshop “More Than You Can Imagine” 
(March 13, 2026) on awareness and sensitization 
of healthcare professionals on rare diseases was 
organized by the Department of Pediatrics, SSMC 
Rewa, in collaboration with AIIMS Bhopal 
(COE for Rare Diseases) and the Ministry of Health 
and Family Welfare.
• It was led by Dr. Sunil Agarwal (Dean) and 
Dr. Naresh Bajaj (HOD Pediatrics), with 
contributions from Dr. Garima Goel, Dr. Bhavna 
Dhingra, Dr. Gaurav Tripathi, and the pediatric 
team.
• The workshop focused on early diagnosis, clinical 
challenges, genetic aspects, referral systems, and 
national policies, with expert lectures and case-based 
discussions to improve clinical decision-making.
4. Training on Rational Use of Blood and its Components: 
(March 17, 2026)
• This event, with the tagline “Component therapy is 
better remedy,” was organized by the Blood Bank, 
Department of Pathology, SSMC Rewa.
• It was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sunil 
Agarwal (Dean), Dr. Rahul Mishra (Superintendent), 
and Dr. S.K. Sutrakar (HOD Pathology), with 
sessions by Dr. Shruti, Dr. Jagannath Jatav, and 
Dr. Vikas.
• The workshop focused on appropriate indications, 
preparation, storage, and clinical use of blood 
components, emphasizing safe transfusion practices 
and prevention of reactions.
• It included academic lectures, practical insights, and 
case-based discussions, aiming to promote evidence
based transfusion practices and patient safety
